Peace for Children

We originally developed this project with different plans, but the war in Ukraine forced us to quickly re-evaluate our priorities. In the first month of the conflict, we therefore initiated the creation of a space for the adaptation of Ukrainian mothers and children who arrive in Slovakia due to the war and need to integrate into society as quickly as possible.

In addition to creating a safe space for the entire community over the course of three months, our project included Slovak language lessons for adults and children. Here, adults not only learned spoken Slovak but also gained self-confidence and courage. During the studies, children were placed in groups with their peers to support each other and practice their language skills. They spent their time creating various creative projects from available materials.

At the end of our efforts, our Ukrainian friends improved their language skills and, most importantly, found a new home in our community.

After completing the three-month integration, many of them found stable jobs and successfully integrated into their new environment.

Our project has become an example of how collective efforts can transform lives and ensure a better future for those facing the challenges of war and displacement.
