The project took place from April 3 to 7, 2017. Thanks to "Living Books," we succeeded in involving more than 320 young people from the Prešov and Košice Self-governing Regions in the current events in Ukraine.
This interactive project, organized by the Gen WE civil association, provided an opportunity to hear authentic experiences of young people from Transcarpathian Ukraine who had personal experience with the conflict in their country. At the same time, it created a space for open discussion and argumentation. It pointed out the lack of critical thinking and the need for verification of information available to the public in the media.
The Ukrainian participants presented their views to students of 7 secondary schools in Svidník, Prešov, Levoča, and Košice, as well as to students of the Faculty of Arts at UPJŠ. Their personal stories included diverse experiences, ranging from the Maidan revolution and studying in Crimea during its occupation to experiences from a war environment.
